Public Relations Specialist France, Berlin

Ecosia, or as we like to call it, the search engine that plants trees, is one of the leading social businesses and the first B Corporation in Germany. As part of our mission to cultivate a more environmentally, socially and economically sustainable world, we want to reverse the tide of deforestation by planting a billion trees by 2020. With 3 million users, 25 million monthly searches, and more than 1000 user evangelists, we are now looking for a passionate Public Relations Specialist who will help us gain more attention and attract more users.

What you'll be doing

• Building and maintaining relationships with international journalists, bloggers and influencers with a focus on France
• Answering press inquiries and actively reaching out to the media
• Making sure our media relations contact list is always up to date
• Pitching and presenting Ecosia at events
• Researching prizes and competitions relevant to Ecosia
• Shaping the future of Ecosia with your own ideas, enthusiasm and personality

What you bring

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Degree in communication, PR, marketing, journalism or similar field
• Strong knowledge media landscape and the new media with experience in France
• Experience crafting creative campaigns to secure media interest
• Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
• Superior writing skills
• Exceptional people skills and propensity for relationship building
• ‘Can-do' attitude and readiness to roll up your sleeves
• Eagerness to learn new skills
• Fluent spoken and written English (on top of French being either your native language or at a professional level)
