Tasks & accountabilities
What can you expect?
You will be integrated in the activities for the ongoing deployment and exploitation of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, and contribute on elaboration of system performance concepts and verification. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department being with more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo.
In your daily activities you can expect:
- Work in an integrated team on the ongoing exploitation of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system
- Get an inside in the development of large systems
- Support the in-field testing and assessment of Galileo in new mass-market devices
- Support the maintenance of Airbus Android assessment application
- Identify reasonable testing scenarios and support the data evaluation
- Contribute to innovative navigation concepts and concept testing with e.g. smartphones
- Experimentation with navigation concepts in close cooperation with the navigation team
- The activity might be carried into a final thesis work

Required skills
- Student of Software Engineering, Computer Science, Navigation, Geoinformatics or similar
- Interest to deepen knowledge on satellite navigation systems
- Experience in programming with Java for Android
- Good knowledge of Matlab, Python or C will be taken into account
- Experience in rapid coding and efficient usage of development tools
- Interest in processing GNSS measurement data and assess early service concepts
- Ambition to work in an international environment
- Willingness to experiment with early system data and get an insight into processing algorithms
- Interest to experiment with new and innovative ideas
- Good level in English and German languages
- You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
