V.I.E. Program Buyer, Augsburg

Our Emissions Control Technologies Division is looking for a Program Buyer m/f V.I.E for its site at Augsburg (Germany).

Tasks

The role of a Program Buyer is to anticipate the specific requirements for new programs (supplier technologies, geographical location and target costs), and to ensure the commodity panel strategy is appropriate to support the acquisition. The role continues to select and pilot suppliers from the agreed supplier panel in order to achieve Program objectives. The main missions of the role are to:

  • Contribute to the conception of the client offer: participate in the program team from the offer conception phase/Pre-Requisition For Quotation Approval (RFQA), and involve expert suppliers in the Pre-RFQA phase.
  • Ensure supplier selection from the agreed supplier panel: identify , in accordance with the commodity buyer, and consult suppliers. Negotiate or participate with the commodity buyer in supplier negotiations and the final choice of supplier.
  • Direct performance follow-up during the program phase: manage suppliers, compare costs with objectives, ensure quality during the program phase, respect delivery deadlines and in particular ensure that the program phase reviews, or gate reviews are supported within the framework of the Program Management System (PMS).
  • Ensure early involvement of the plant buyers in the program before the series phase.
  • Manage specific mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.

This V.I.E will start ideally in October 2010 for 12 months.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Master's degree in engineering with a specialisation in international purchasing
  • Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organisation
  • International mind set, overseas experience a plus
  • Minimum bi-lingual (English mandatory).
