Role
- The role of a Series Purchasing Manager is to manage and monitor all plant suppliers issues in line with Europe Purchasing targets and policy and to improve Quality Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance incl.
- Solid line management of the Series Purchasing Buyers of each plant / regions
- Solid line management of the Supplier Quality Assurance of each plant
- Support the deployment of the strategy defined by the commodities accross the region
- Attend plant management board of the plant
- Play actively as an interface between Purchasing and Operations
- Support to the plants
- Drive purchasing performance for the country (action plan execution, panel management…)
- Budgeting, Monitoring, Reporting of the Purchasing KPIs
- Implement according to the Purchasing system guidelines the Series Purchasing standard processes in each plant.
Missions
- Build (with Commodity inputs) the purchasing budget per plant and share it with the plants.
- Propose and validate with Commodity leaders the Cost Productivity actions, for the plants under his responsibility. Screen parts from the plant and assess BLC, cost model, VAVE ideas, Insourcing potential, suppliers resourcing potential, packaging optimization, with the commodity leader.
- Screen the suppliers footprint per plant and propose the improvement plans
- Responsible for the execution of the Cost Productivity actions. Lead the implementation team (make to buy, footprint change, supplier bankrupcy…)
- Monitoring of the Cost reduction actions for his plants, and validating that they are in line with the budget (MIP).
- Present every months to the plant management board the productivity plan update and the purchasing results.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to continuously improve the suppliers Misdeliveries Per Million (MPM).
- Support the Material Planner / Series Buyers in Supply Crisis Management incl. proper escalation.
- Be involved in the Sourcing Committees and Steering Committees in program phase to prepare the start of Production. Lead the Transfer between Program buyer and Series buyer at the SOP and validate the Hand over.
- Make sure that all relevant suppliers and parts information is available and ensure proper ordering, invoicing & cost control .
- Manage ERP accuracy with the Purchasing Back Office.
- Monitor with the series buyers the major volumes changes and monitor the End of Life with the suppliers and the commodity leaders.
Profile
- Masters degree in engineering with a specialisation in international purchasing
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the same level of position in an industrial environment. Automotive is a plus
- Strong technical background and experience in operation is a plus
- Strong negotiation and management skills
- Results oriented with strong written and oral communications skills
- Autonomy and drive
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization
- Strong cross functional Leadership
- International mind set, overseas experience a plus
- Fluent in English and German
