Purpose of the job

Integrated within the Engineering Organization of the BU, and in close relation with the different Engineering organisations of the BG and the Group, the Senior Composite Expert will the referent for all subject related to his domain of expertise.

While strictly implementing Faurecia Innovation and Engineering guidelines & processes, the main missions of the role are to:

Innovation:

• Suggest Innovations topics during incubation process
• Lead/participate in specific innovation programs
• Support innovation teams upon request on Composites expertise
• Promote Composites within the Group

Acquisition/Development/production:

• Support engineering teams, during acquisition and program developments
• Support production plants on issues linked to composite materials/Processes
• Support Sales organisation in front of Customers / Techdays / Faires
• Support Purchasing teams in their supplier management
• Create technical specifications on composite materials
• Actively participate to trials during material/product/process validation

Networking:

• Develop network within Faurecia experts group
• Develop network with other Faurecia BG teams working on composites
• Monitor what competition is doing
• Develop intimacy with customers teams
• Develop intimacy with supplier teams
• Represent Faurecia in International events (publications, presentations, …)

Knowlegde sharing:

• Establish training programs for new comers
• Train new comers

Domain of Composite Expertise

• Reinforcements (Carbon, Glass, Natural fibers)
• Semi products from reinforcements (fabrics, NCF, Chopped Mat, CFM, …)
• Thermoset Resin systems (Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy, Polyurethan, ...)
• Thermoplastic resin systems (PP, PA6, PA6.6, PET)
• Additives to above materials
• Composites semi-products (SMC, BMC, Prepreg, organosheets, …)
• Composites transformation processes (Autoclave, infusion, RTM, HP-RTM, SMC, BMC, TP injection with organosheet, …)
• Mechanical behavior of composites

Profile

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Ideally a PHD in Composites materials or an Engineering Degree in the same field
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in industry with successful track record in applicable research activities in Composites
• Fluent in English, French and German
• Very good communication and presentation skills, and capacity of empathy
• Existing intimacy with suppliers/ customers in composite field
• Business international mindset
• Accountable and results oriented – Get the things done
• Team player and ability to work in a matrix organization
