Your Tasks & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to apply state-of-the-art data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to:
- Improve the quality and completeness of protein structures predictions
- Predict protein functions
- Develop new, innovative methods for the characterization and identification of new protein targets
- Contribute to the implementation of a cross-divisional platform to accelerate the identification of new mode of actions
- Interact and collaborate with members of others international Bayer entities, as much as with wet-lab colleagues in conceiving and evaluating experiments, and in interpreting experimental results
- Present results and project advancements in various committee
Who you are
- PhD in structural bioinformatics, biophysics, computer sciences, computational chemistry or related fields and sincere interest for life sciences.
- Experience with state-of-the-art machine-learning and artificial intelligence methods, preferably applied to protein structure or protein function prediction.
- Solid understanding of protein evolution and its implication at protein sequence and structural level is a prerequisite.
- Experience in working with structural data produced by X-ray crystallography, Cryo-EM and NMR data is preferred.
- Excellent programming skills in Python is preferred.
- Knowledge of physics-based methods such as molecular dynamics and free energy perturbations would be of advantage
- Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary environment and to closely collaborate with biologists, biochemists, and chemists
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills, and ability to independently devise and develop innovative solutions in a challenging stimulating environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication and fluency in written and spoken English. Basic knowledge of German and/or French would be of advantage
