For ongoing & upcoming projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and other African countries we are looking for an:
Microfinance and MSME Expert
(Based in Frankfurt, Germany with regular project monitoring visits in the DRC and potentially other African countries; temporary employment for 2 years)
The main tasks of the position include
• Quality review of consultants' deliverables in the areas of bank governance, risk management/internal audit, MSME finance and MIS
• Technical concept writing for client financial institutions
• Participation in consultants recruitment process
• Day-to-day project management, reporting and coordination of external experts
• Project monitoring visits on-site
Candidates should fulfill the following qualifications criteria
• At least 8 years of experience in the commercial banking and/or Microfinance sector
• Experience with bank non-lending product mix for retail and SME clients
• Knowledge of, and experience in bank risk management and internal control/audit
• Knowledge of, and experience in cash-flow based lending to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises
• Experience in training and coaching of banking staff of various levels
• Master's degree in finance, banking, economics or business administration
• Proficiency in English and French both in speaking and writing
• Outstanding writing skills
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, commitment, sociability, flexibility and intercultural sensitivity
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, incl. financial modeling experience in Excel, and advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
• Willingness to travel and readiness to adapt to new environments
• Previous work experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo and/or Africa would be a plus.
