Missions
Lead and manage all LSP facing operational tasks in KN Integrated Logistics for the assigned customer engagement:
- Logistics Procurement, LSP on-boarding, LSP management, LSP disengagement
- Establish commercial relationships on behalf of KN IL and the customer with LSPs in scop
- Define relevant requirements for selection process
- Research and screen the market for potential candidates
- Initiate, prepare and manage professional selection process through methods of RFQ and similar sourcing processes
- Negotiate commercial conditions with LSPs that will reflect optimum outcome against agreed objectives
- Decide and/or make recommendation to his/her business manager and/or to customer on optimised LSP selection outcome
- Manage the LSP integration process into the work stream of KN Integrated Logistics
- Run contracting process and related negotiations with all relevant LSPs in scope, including creation of LSP SOP’s
- Collect, verify and prepare required LSP data for use in KN IL and customer systems
- Run change management process with LSPs in roll-out of KN IL service portfolio
- Lead LSP training and (EDI-) integration process Manage the relationship with the relevant LSPs in scope
- Active monitoring of the LSP performance in their service delivery performance (against contracted Scope Of Work and agreed performance targets and related KPI’s )
- Lead of frequent (monthly, quarterly) management meetings with LSPs to identify areas of improvement, track root causes and define actions for prevention in the future
- Manage all relevant rates and other LSP master data during the respective engagement life cycle
- Be supportive of operations in KN IL Logistics Control Centre and their respective tasks in operation LSP management (planning, customer service, freight settlement) Support in network analysis, engineering and continuous improvement tasks
Profile
- Minimum five years experience in the international transportation and/or in a logistics project environment.
- Excellent market knowledge of logistics transportation and warehousing suppliers, preferable in all modes of transport.
- Knowledge of the European legislation regarding transportation.
- Knowledge of guidelines set forth by the ADR, IMDG, and IATA for shipping dangerous or hazardous goods is considered an asset.
- Technical knowledge of environment related selection criteria
- Being aware of and live general purchasing ethics.
- Demonstrate loyalty towards own organisation (KN).
- Truthful treatment of Suppliers.
- Support honest competition.
- Sustain the purchasing profession.
- Solid knowledge of tendering and LSP implementation is desired
- Commercial attitude to build partnership and relations with suppliers based on trust and reliability.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to act and contribute to effectively working in a team.
- Strong understanding of project management discipline and solutions.
- University degree or similar level of education in the transportation industry, or comparable level through - perience made in the field
- Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of German and French languages in speaking and writing is desired. Any other language is beneficial.
- Ability to travel up to 35 %, as an average depending on necessity
