Missions

Essential responsibilities and duties:

• The HMI Design Studio Engineer is in charge of the physical integration of all HMI, UX and Smart Surface solution within a meaningful environment, both for ensureing feasibility and for best possible value communication
• In order to do so, the HMI Design Studio Engineer has to understand and to take into account the different dimensions of the products (use patterns, regions, brands, relevant technologies, end-user psychology, cognitive science)
• The therefore required skills reach from user perception models over creativity to competencies regarding the relevant technologies and the market realities and their evolution, but very centrally also to high speed prototype definition and bench engineering.
• The role will be an instrulental pivot between ‘pure’ industrial designers, HMI designers, product engineers, model builders and technology experts.

The main missions of the role:

• Provide quick translations of user experience definitions and design intentions into doable properties, eficient in communication value, feasibility, time, cost and flexibility
• Lagely master technologies from ‘smart surfaces’, optics, haptics and kinematics and ergonomics
• Provide program development and prototype building knowledge from automotive and othere more advanced markets to our teams
• Translate user experience intents as well as mental and physical ergonomic assumptions into tangible product and technology recommendations, taking into consideration boundary conditions from standards, cost and processes.
• Create, specify and analyze product specifications from OEMs and internal sources, and debate solutions wih the relevant leadership, in order to achieve solutions optimized for Faurecia
• Ability to realize attractive representations of UX and design scenarios and solutions
• Deploy competencies inside the company (training, guidelines, standards,…)
• Identify best in class digital tools and technologies
• Promote Faurecia product and technology competencies internally and externally

Profile

• Designer or at minimum design minded
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Creative Studio Engineering
• Mastering of relevant technologies
• Understanding of the mlarger systems in which his/her expertise is involved
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Technological curiosity
• Human and social curiosity
• Systematic and transparent approach
• Skilled in and knowedgable about relevant softwares
• Intercultural and open mindset, overseas experiences a plus
• Flexibility for frequent business travel
• Minimum bi-lingual; English required
