The role
To manage hierarchically / functionally the Development Engineering resources assigned on cockpit programs and to ensure target achievement for D&D Engineering related activities. This mainly consists in managing :
- Cockpit Architect engineers
- Cockpit Design For Assembly engineers
- Cockpit Product Design Engineers
- Digital Mockup (DMU) engineers
- To manage the link with cockpit suppliers / partner
To manage hierarchically / functionally the GTS core resources assigned to cockpit and Design For Assembly (DFA) activities. They are the technical reference in the business group on these technology domain, split in 4 missions :
- Responsibilities within GTS Mission A: “Build the Technology roadmap through internal and external benchmark, innovation drive and Strategic Plan fuelling”
- Responsibilities within GTS Mission B: “Create and Maintain standards including lessons learned and capitalization”
- Responsibilities within Mission C: “Promote and deploy the Technology portfolio of standards from acquisition to serial life”
- Responsibilities within Mission D : Develop the Technology competencies within FIS, animating networks and technical trainings
- To manage the acquisitions with our customers as well as the relations with cockpit industrial suppliers / partners and be able to manage them in term of Cost, Planning, and Technical solutions.
- To lead the DFA method and deployment inside Faurecia Interior System engineering organization.
- To lead innovation related to cockpit activity
- To manage Staffing & Budget constraints linked to cockpit development activities.
Profile
- Engineering Degree and 10 to 15 years experience in automotive Industry
- Several years of working experience in the field of automotive automobile development as well as industrial implementation (>5 years).
- A strong experience in cockpit (or equivalent module) development and industrialization and ideally in Instrument Panel (>5 years).
- Experience to multi-cultural program team environment.
- A “product-process” approach: a strong commitment on product to process performance.
- A strong knowledge in the technologies used on cockpit assembly and Just In Sequence production (JIS), from inbound logistics, internal logistics flow, assembly, testing and delivery.
- Creativity and ability to think interdisciplinary and a sense for technical feasibility. Ease of decision-making, self-confidence and own initiative, presentation methods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and management skills.
- Multicultural mindset.
- Flexibility for frequent business travel.
- Capacity of synthesis, presenting to large audience (including in the English language), or other experts
- Capacity to have and propose a vision and a direction to our cockpit domain.
- Capacity to establish a Good company network internally, but also with our cockpit suppliers & partners.
- Knowledge of Automotive OEM specifications, regulations and legislations
- Knowledge of benchmarking, management information
- Minimum bi-lingual (English + German required, French or other languages are a significant plus)
