Task & accountabilities
Airbus Defence and Space is a global leader in military aviation. We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to work in the interdisciplinary field of Systems Engineering & Architecture for unmanned systems.
We are an international and interdisciplinary team within Airbus Defence and Space UAS Engineering. We are responsible for collecting the overall system requirements and establishing the overall system design for UAS within the Airbus Defence and Space perimeter.
In particular, this role focuses on the Air Segment development

We are looking for an engaged Airvehicle Systems Architect (d/f/m), able and willing to perform the requirements and design work and to harmonize the results with other Engineering disciplines and partner companies in an systems engineering approach.
This will be your Tasks:
- gather and manage customer, regulatory and program requirements
- perform the design activities to fulfil those requirements
- define subsystem requirements and monitor their implementation
- establish ideas for platform overarching generic design concepts
- perform system hazard Analysis
- contribute to overall equipment list
- establish and initiate Technology studies/projects if beneficial for future business
- harmonize requirements and design with other Segment/functional chain architects and other Engineering disciplines and Partner companies (Consolidation of Physical Budgets, Design Criteria and Overall RPA Performances)
- support program line with technical assessments
- support IV activities
- support certification activities
- maintain contact to customer to refine operational expectations and requirements
Required skills
This should be your competences:
- Master in Aeronautical Engineering or comparable
- ability to understand operational use of the System and define requirements
- ability to understand and specify complex functions
- ability to express and document complex issues in an understandable way
- knowledge about UAS
- understanding about work processes in Military environment
- understanding about System and Software development in aircrafts
- understanding about certification of flying Systems is an advantage
- knowledge about Systems Engineering Standardslike ARP 4754a, Incose
- knowledge about Requirements Management and Analysis
- knowledge about operational use cases for sensor use and weapon employment in ISTAR missions is an advantage
- Fluent in English and German
