Tasks
The job holder will perform research on existing material regarding radio system performance and protection criteria (for example on standards and ITU recommendations). He/She will analyse technical compatibilities to demonstrate the conditions under which different radio systems can share a common frequency band. These results are intended to be submitted to the relevant European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) working groups.
Furthermore, the job holder will support the definition of measurement campaigns for ground and flight tests.
Profile
The successful candidate has a degree in telecommunications, networks or electrical engineering. He/She can demonstrate extensive experience in wireless communication standards (for example. IEEE 802.11, 802.15.4/ZigBee, Bluetooth, GSM/UMTS, etc.), radio propagation mechanisms and modelling as well as in the performance assessment of radio communication systems by means of analytical and/or numerical analysis. Ideally, he/she has a background in telecom standardisation/regulation, satellite communication systems and/or radar systems and is experienced with Matlab and SEAMCAT.
Fluency in English and good communication and organisational skills complete the profile. French and/or German language skills would be an asset.
