Job Description

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Project Manager for Navigation Ground Systems (f/m) to join our Navigation Department based in Toulouse, France.

In the frame of the development of a major Navigation Programme, as a Projet Manager, you will be responsible of the Delivery for a complete sub-system or equipement of the Ground System:

  • Accountable for Time, Cost, and Quality of one or several sub-systems (between 10 M€ to 20 M€ of budget each),

  • Responsible for the programmatic interface with Business Line,

  • Responsible for the programmatic interface with the teams in charge of the development,

  • At sub-system level, in charge of managing the relationship with the customer (ESA).

  • You will contribute to a major Ground System programme, in an international industrial setup.

Your challenges

  • Manage the Work Package to ensure On-Time, On-Cost, On-Quality (OTOCOQ) & on-performance delivery,

  • Ensure right level of requirement/information cascade to allow the team / the supplier to proceed,

  • Coordinate and synchronize the work-packages’ activities (technical, configuration management, safety, security, product assurance, architecture, IVQ,…),

  • Manage Risks & Opportunities (R&O),

  • Manage key interfaces, interdependencies & the best possible synchronization between stakeholders,

  • Manages review with key stakeholders (supplier, project team, experts, customers - ESA and EUSPA).

Your profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager,

  • Experience in project management of internal teams and/or suppliers (PMP certification, or Airbus PM certification is a plus),

  • Risk & Opportunity management,

  • Background on system architecture, development, IVV (Integration, Verification, Validation) process,

  • PMO & traceability tools (ex. PMOT, JIRA, RQM, ARM, …),

  • A plus: Supplier management and control, especially for non-recurring project development phases,

  • Soft skills: Leader, customer-oriented, Good communication skills, assertive, collaborative, methodical,

  • English advanced level mandatory, German or Spanish is a plus.
