Your tasks and responsibilities
- Design of multi-step organic syntheses towards innovative bioactive Small Molecules (mainly Heterocyclic Chemistry)
- Develop, implement and carry out the syntheses in a timeand resource-efficient way, using state-of-the-art laboratory-scale methodologies (use of classical and parallel synthesis tools) to provide target molecules in high purity to our biological screening
- Implement and monitor the progress of the agreed programs and give regular progress reports. Ensure detailed and accurate documentation of research results (lab journal and reports)
- Be part of an international research project team in an innovative environment and actively contribute to project meetings
- Lead a chemistry laboratory with 1-2 co-workers
- Ensure high safety standards and compliant actions, always taking into account laws, regulations and directives
Who you are
- You are an organic chemist (PhD or comparable education) preferably with a postdoctoral experience (academic or industrial)
- You have an excellent knowledge of theoretical and practical organic chemistry (synthesis, purification and analysis)
- You display a high enthusiasm for organic chemistry and passion for research with a strong interest for agro-chemistry and/or life sciences
- You have a good command of English; a basic knowledge in French is appreciated
- You are a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- You are skilled in team management
