Platform Software Architect (m/f/d), Erlangen

The mission of the thermal systems business group is to develop and manufacture systems, modules and components to ensure thermal energy management of the power train and comfort for each passenger, during all phases of vehicle use. These systems help to significantly reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and other pollutants and harmful particles from vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines. They also increase travel range and battery life for hybrid and electric vehicles. At the Front Office in Bietigheim-Bissingen we are supporting Sale- and Project activities and compose the interface between the customers Daimler and Valeo-internal departments at the development from Thermal Systems.

Missions

• You define the Hardware Architecture of the inverter
• You work on design of the schematics and support the layout design of the inverter
• You support the definition of the hardware tests strategy
• You support and perform the execution of the hardware tests and analysis of the results
• You are responsible for creation of technical hardware documentation including specification & requirements
• You ensure an optimize design to cost approach and check the patents
• You manage the link and collaborate with other Métiers outside the Platform (e.g. Software, Safety, Purchasing, Industrialization etc.)
• You enforce standards and Métier Design Review and support the creation of design guidelines
• Finally, you execute benchmarking activities

Your qualifications

• You have a successfully completed degree in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification
• You have at least 5 years of experience as Hardware Designer in the automotive industry, preferably for the powertrain
• You have basic knowledge of EMC
• You have advanced knowledge in electronic simulations
• You have very good communications skills
• You are fluent in German and English, as well as strong communication skills and decision-making abilities round off your profile
