Missions

  • Main activities includes materials engineering of plastics especially testing and validation of different grades
  • Develop new uses for known materials that could be used in our products
  • Manages new projects from concept to production with a primary focus on ability to be manufactured, profitability and ability to meet customers’ needs and fabrication
  • Review innovation programs and make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity and cost
  • Ensure design adheres to customer test requirements and all related plastic guidelines
  • Material qualification and new methods deployment according to to PMS / IPMS
  • Initiate, direct and control specific projects and frequently report progress
  • Support of the innovation teams regarding the material aspects of new products (proposal of solutions, definition and realization of tests)
  • Ensure that related testing on plastic parts for assigned programs is completed
  • Planning , execution and documentation of tests
  • Active participation in internal and external networks including reporting
  • Preparation of publications and conference presentations
  • Supervison of internships and diploma students
  • Technical communication with the global customers
  • Provide technical support on production and quality related topics

Profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering or a comparable education
  • 4-5 years experience in Automotive industry (Development /Testing) or comparable professional experience
  • 3-4 years experience in area of materials engineering, plastic materials especially high temperature plastics
  • Knowledge in elastomers, fibers and adhesives is also beneficial
  • Background and experience in testing and material selection
  • Experience in R&D projects
  • Project management skills to drive results
  • Fluent business English and German, other additional languages are a plus
