Your mission

• Drive incorporation of data science into the daily R&D practice at Bayer Crop Science making it a core scientific discipline next to chemistry, biology, biochemistry and agronomy.
• Gather, analyze, and model data and key performance indicators to develop quantitative and qualitative insights via statistical, machine learning, and other analytical models to enable better decision making.
• Generate hypotheses together with domain experts based on relevant data / information and create innovative predictive models to advance the R&D pipeline
  
• Utilize and further develop machine learning approaches, image processing tools, workflows and databases to turn data from different sources into information to provide a sound basis for decision making
• Work with data engineers to integrate the analytical models and tools into the software ecosystem to deliver a seamless experience to the end user
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in data science and provide guidance and consulting for possible technical investments.

Your profile

• PhD or Master degree with minimum 3 years experiences in computational or natural sciences, mathematics, physics or an equivalent qualification
• Experience in data science and (hybrid-) modeling of Life Science applications with knowledge in machine learning, image analysis, statistics, mechanistic modeling
• IT & programming or scripting skills, experienced with using high performance computing
• Open to learn experimental set-ups and challenges.
• Capability to present complex issues clearly and convincingly to cross-functional project teams
• Very good level of English communication skills, both verbal and written, French is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills
