Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF)

Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) acts exclusively in the public interest. Our aim is to protect financial consumers and to promote fairness, transparency and security within the financial sector, one of the main pillars of the Luxembourg economy.

The CSSF is also distinguished by its strong involvement at European and international level. Our staff actively participate in working groups set up by international institutions and work closely with other European authorities, with the shared aim of promoting financial stability at European and international level.

Role & responsibilities

  • Performing on-site inspections relating to the depositary and the fund administration functions with involvement in the full process of the inspection:
  • Pre-inspection phase (preparation, inspection plan definition, communication with the entity)
  • Investigation phase (kick-off meeting, interviews, sample, analysis of process and controls in place to verify the compliance with the applicable regulation)
  • Reporting phase (preparation of working papers, writing of report and observations' letter, presentation of the inspection results to the entity)
  • Cooperating with members of the division and other CSSF departments
  • Contributing to the methodological work

profile

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration and Management
  • Proven professional experience of more than 5 years in investment funds, especially in the field of depositaries or fund administration (operational function, consultant, audit, risk manager)
  • Very good knowledge of the investment fund regulation
  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken French and English. German or Luxembourgish will be considered as an advantage
  • Excellent writing, analytical, synthesis and communication skills
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail and good organization skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • High sense of confidentiality
