Tasks & accountabilities

The Engineer for Electric Propulsion System Development supporting the department by development of electronic components for electrical propulsion system and chemical propulsion system of satellites. The engineer is the focal point towards customer but also towards supplier for all electronic and electric issue.

His tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis and definition electrical equipment and electrical interfaces from specification, analysis, design to validation and qualification
  • Elaboration of development and qualification plan and industrial scheme, including acceptance of electrical interface definition and specification compliance
  • technical interface towards suppliers, industrial Partners and customers for electrical topics
  • contribution to elaboration of proposals and evaluation of supplier offers
  • lead engineer in the department for electrical components linked to chemical or electrical propulsion systems and equipment
  • lead engineer in the electrical chain design and schematics and definition of valve driver control, EEE part, sensing elements, operational schemes and SW/FPGA IF
  • performance of trade-off considering economic and technical criteria
  • system design optimization for design to cost and industrialisation aspects
  • interfacing with other engineering disciplines design and layout, manufacturing, integration, testing, thermal, EEE specialists, Radiation specialist, EMC specialist and with the project management and quality control
  • Support to planning, definition and evaluation of electrical propulsion system /equipment ground tests, contribution to definition of tests facilities for functional and performance tests and EMC testing
  • Elaboration of Margin approach and electric budget
  • problem solving for electronic disturbances and anomalies

Required skills

  • A good comprehension of High power or high frequency Electronics and Electrical Engineering
  • More than 5 years work experience as an engineer
  • At least 2 years of experience in power electronic, high-voltage electronic design, electrical equipment definition or electrical system engineering
  • Experience in Electronic design & definition for Space application
  • Experience in EMC Analysis and testing
  • knowledge on satellite propulsion systems
  • Toolskills in LabView, EcoSimPro, Matlab, SAP, MS Office
  • English: Advanced
  • German: Fluent
  • positive, open and team player
  • structured thinking and conscientious
  • Writing and reporting in a synthetic manner
