Missions

  • Build the strategy to be deployed for the specific commodity in coordination with Business Group and company objectives
  • Negotiate and implement general agreements with the suppliers e.g. MOU and Partnership agreements
  • Manage and conduct the annual steel allocation process direct and to the Tier II suppliers
  • Structure the panel to achieve the best landed cost (BLC): participate in the definition and the implementation of the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities, manage supplier selection according to Group criteria and according to BLC
  • Panel management: monitor and carry out regular follow-up supplier performance in relation with the Supplier Quality team and implement a supplier panel optimization plan consistent with Division and Business Group targets
  • Manage the supplier productivity and achieve budget savings in tandem with plant-level buyers
  • Coordinate/perform monthly price updates for the respective commodity -ensure the implementation and follow up on any deviation
  • Ensure the utilisation of the supplier panel by program and plant buyers to be in line with supplier strategy and BLC
  • Master the regular reporting of his or her activities following defined policies
  • Actively support VAVE activities (technical cost savings) and internal productivity actions in targeted areas (optimize transport, scrap reduction, in/outsourcing activities)

Profil

  • Master's degree in business/engineering, specialisation in international purchasing a plus
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Commodity Buyer in an industrial environment
  • Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a matrixed organisation
  • International mind set, overseas experience a plus
  • Bi/multi-lingual (English required)
