Our customer, based in France, is one of the leading producers of malt. For the support of its locations in Germany we are looking for a:
Accounting Finance Manager - German / English (m/f/d), Augsburg (Hybrid)
Your area of responsibility
- The accountant team leader reports directly to the finance director of the French parent company and is responsible for accounting/financial inquiries and financial transactions of the German subsidiary.
- He/She should be able to keep accounts according to German standards and have experience with tax/financial regulations for German companies.
- He/She will manage a small team of accountants and must be able to provide the required financial information to senior management in English.
- Business communication between the French parent company and the German locations is conducted in English.
Your main tasks
- You are the contact person for finance and accounting at several locations in Germany
- You have in-depth specialist knowledge of German accounting practice and can apply this to meet tax requirements and corporate tax regulations
- Your solid technical and accounting knowledge enables you to carry out VAT transactions in the German and European cross-border context
- You are autonomous and self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- You enjoy active participation in projects to improve business processes and seek funding from federal, state, and other institutions
- You participate in the annual audit for the German branch in coordination with the French parent company
- You run a small accounting team
What do we expect from you? Your qualifications
- University degree in accounting or higher education in accounting (assistant tax assistant, financial accountant, accountant, business economist with a focus on finance/accounting)
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in accounting
- Good practical knowledge of the HGB / RechKredV requirements
- Solid technical and accounting knowledge, particularly VAT transactions in a European context
- Mastery of Excel and in-depth knowledge of SAP
- Command of German and English, as internal communication with the French parent company is in English
- Team management skills, and working closely with HQ
- Understanding of intercultural relationships and good communication skills
