The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) programme is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

Tasks
For Airbus in Hamburg-Finkenwerder within the department Jigs and Tools and Technical Systems we are looking for a VIE - Project Assistant Jigs, Tools and Technical Systems (f/m).
The office work place is the Airbus plant Hamburg-Finkenwerder, project work also will take place at the location of the supplier and at Airbus Toulouse with the transnational project members. You will work in a team of Jigs and Tools experts, mechanical and project engineers and support and assist the project leaders in different subjects of planning and realisations, e.g. the new sharklet for the A320 programme. The department Jigs and Tools and Technical Systems is part of the Manufacturing Organisation. You will be involved and take part at the project work and will have to create necessary documents and to do the active project management to ensure the realisation of the project targets.
The focus of work is planning and project management to ensure the realisation of the jigs, tools and technical systems in time cost and quality for the programmes: Single Aisle, Long Range, A380 and A350 XWB.

Project planning:
- Rough planning the project infrastructure and schedule preparation
- Participation in national / transnational teams to define technical
- requirements / descriptions
- Agree the project work with the harmonized process in the transnational teamwork
- Identify and agree project interfaces
- Develop work breakdown structures
- Prepare and support detailed project descriptions/ requests
- Planning an optimized lean assembly for the production shop floor
- Perform cost estimations and planning the order management with the interface to the procurement
- Concept development and specification:
- Global agreement with overall project interfaces
- Create optimized layout for machines, work stations, technical systems and equipment
- Develop innovative concepts for machines and technical systems
- Evaluate the economic efficiency in the projects
- Define the devices optimized to the ergonomic requirements
- Prepare presentations for steering meetings to present and agree concepts
- Write the necessary technical definitions and parts of the specifications
Project implementation:
- Produce representation of technical decision papers, cost estimations, cash flow, concepts, specifications, schedule on project leader and steering level
- Implement and propose Airbus best practice to technical solutions
- Contribution/ support to the procurement process of procurement department in relation to all technical aspects
Project reporting / controlling:
- Produce presentations, project reports and documentation of the project status for quality, technical engineering, costs and deadline e.g. to bring the device into service
- Identification of project risks and introduction of measures for risk reduction
- Prepare work process meetings / steering meetings
- Reporting to the project leader and task manager
- Project controlling and monitoring the external supplier
Project Management:
- Coordination and planning the content of the projects through the whole milestone process
- Drive the work stream activities which are necessary to fulfil the completely planning
- and realisation process up to the bringing the device into service
- Implement the best practice project work as a standard
Skills
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Degree in General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- English: Advanced
- German: Intermediate
- Avalilability for frequent business travels
- Good MS-Office and CATIA V5 skills
