Tasks
- Algorithm Design & Development: Design radar waveforms (e.g., FMCW, PMCW) and signal processing chains (Range/Doppler FFT, CFAR, AoA estimation, Clustering) based on functional needs and sensor specifications.
- System Modeling: Develop high-fidelity simulations using MATLAB or Python to predict radar performance and validate algorithm theoretical limits.
- Requirement Analysis: Define and document technical specifications for the signal processing chain, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and Valeo internal standards.
- Implementation Support: Collaborate with the Software and Hardware teams to port and optimize algorithms onto embedded platforms (DSP, FPGA, or SoC).
- Performance Validation: Analyze raw radar data from test benches and vehicle fleet tests to troubleshoot issues and refine detection performance in real-world scenarios.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in design reviews and contribute to the standardization of signal processing modules across different radar product lines.
Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Radar Physics (Radar equation, RCS, interference).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for algorithm modeling and data analysis.
- Waveform Design: Proven experience in designing radar waveforms to meet specific range, velocity, and angular resolution requirements.
- Communication: Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, multi-site team environment.
