Semiconductor Senior Field Engineer / Ingénieur semi-conducteur / Halbleiter Ingenieur
About the Role
The Semiconductor Senior Field Engineer reports to the Europe Field Engineer Director in Munich, Germany. You are responsible for providing on-going support to GLOBALFOUNDRIES foundry customers at a senior level.
The principal scope and accountabilities are interfacing with customers in Tapeout Centers. You are able to communicate proactively with customers regarding all services and options available to them at GLOBALFOUNDRIES. You are able to optimize the use of resources between the field and the Fabs for a continuous seamless customer engagement and support, from pre tapeout to post tapeout phases. You are also capable of independently identifying key actions and tasks to serve the customer and proactively driving those actions to remain with agreed to timeframes.
You are capable of managing customer relationships including difficult situations, gathering feedback from customer and determining best internal points for communicating this back to appropriate GLOBALFOUNDRIES personnel and driving and following up on resolutions.
You understand the specific technical processes used by assigned customers. As a requirement you keep yourself abreast of the latest technological developments in the semiconductor industry. Because of this advanced knowledge you are able to make recommendations to customers or the Fab concerning design modifications or process improvements.
As Sr. Field Engineer you facilitate communication between customers and the Fab to ensure all technical requirements are met in areas of product performance information, and evaluate design requirements to determine whether they fit with GLOBALFOUNDRIES capabilities. You also independently manage complex customer design win projects. You also understand and manage specific key tasks such as NDA-based document disclosures, compilation of customer yield data, and initiation of PRF for onward processing by CSR.
You proactively work with Customer Management and Account Managers; provide training and technical support concerning difficult technical or process issues, and assist in making technical presentations to potential and existing customers.
As a team player you are able to work closely with Account Manager, Customer Service Representatives, and Administration as a team to communicate information and maximize GLOBALFOUNDRIES customer satisfaction.
About You
Your education resulted in the attainment of a BSEE, MSEE or equivalent degrees. You ideally have more than 4 years relevant experience in semiconductor processes and a thorough knowledge of process from design to production. You have strong business English and, whilst fluent French or Italian language is preferred, it is not a pre-requisite to applying for this position. This role will be located in Munich.
