Missions

As the IT Solutions Architect – Data & Analytics your main responsibilities are:

• Provide technical expertise and guidelines for DSC data and analytics strategy
• Help to create and maintain Enterprise data & analytics architecture blueprints and cookbooks for global solutions based on vendor capabilities and DPDHL best practices
• Support and help to influence our global Data Analytics agenda to ensure the integrity and sustainability of our IT landscape from a long-term perspective
• Execute architecture guidelines and principles for data analytics, helping teams to select the right data tools (e.g., Data Lake, Data Warehouses such as Azure Synapse or Snowflake, etc.) and analytics tools (e.g. Azure ML, Kubeflow, Data Robot, etc.) for the right use case and influence the choice, as appropriate
• Work closely with Analytics Product Development Managers and other members of the Data Analytics community to provide architecture support
• Help to manage the data analytics pipeline to gather requirements from regions, define solution design, agree timelines and map out resource and team engagement needs
• Drive the definition, development, governance and revision of data and analytics reference architectures for DSC globally
• Help identify and/ or purchase hardware and software
• Help conduct PoCs to evaluate tools and SaaS services against functional and non-functional requirements and provide recommendations to the team.
• Resolve and analyze issues in day-to-day delivery and implement practices for IT architecture related to data and analytics, focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
• Simplify architecture topics for non technical stakeholders and senior management for decision making
• Help to maintain Data Analytics Cloud subscriptions on Azure, Snowflake, ITS private cloud
• Facilitate and support data and analytics architecture discussions between DSC teams, other BUs and 3rd parties to help achieve company goals

Profile

Now here's what we need from you;

• Extensive experience in the IT industry with expert knowledge of data management solutions on Microsoft Azure and/or Snowflake
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions for data lakes and data warehouses
• Expertise in cloud-based big data solutions is required – preferably with Azure Data Lake and related technological stack: ADLS Gen2, Spark/Databricks, Kafka/Events Hub, Stream Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Cosmo DB, AKS, API management, …
• Experience with designing and running Data Warehouses ideally on Snowflake and/or Synapse Analytics
• Experience working on DataOps, MLOps teams for large and complex systems, including productization of ML and optimization algorithms on platforms like Kubeflow
• Have a solid understanding of delivery methodology (SCRUM, Waterfall) and guiding teams in the implementation of the solution according to the design/architecture
• Nice to have: Designed and developed solutions on Datamesh principles
• One or more of the certifications: TOGAF Enterprise architecture or Foundation certified or Microsoft Azure certification or Snowflake certification
