Tasks

The Export Operations Representative executes the entire Global Export Operations processes according to the internal policies and practices. Manages and processes customer offers, orders including service complaints and provides information about products, services and order status for the entire Life Science portfolio globally. Processes offers and orders in various IT-systems and assures product delivery in accordance with service level agreements (checks inventory availability, pricing, status of shipment), customer requirements and given manufacturing capabilities.Handles export documentation related to payment and shipping terms (cash against document, letter of credit), to products and to country specifications.Manages customers’ accounts (master data, specific pricing, shipping conditions).Handles and resolves distributor and customer complaints within quality management systems. Develops solutions to a variety of issues, moderate and more complex level. Acts as an interface between the sales organization in the field, the logistic department, the trade compliance team, the supply chain, the regulatory affairs and possible other departments. Escalates requests and unresolved issues to the designated department.Builds and cultivates strong business relationships with our internal and external stakeholders to optimize customer experience.Communicates and collaborates with Governance team (in line with export credit policy) to ensure the timely release of orders and the timely receipt of the pending payments.Supports peers/colleagues in their daily work if required.Demonstrates the Merck values in your daily routine.

Profile

  • Bachelor's in business, science or related field (working experience in a customer facing environment desirable)
  • First experience in relevant roles
  • Understanding of the life science sector, including key market players, trends, Process knowledge (Lead-to-Satisfaction) preferably in Export business, and regulatory environment
  • First experience with order management and the ability to process orders accurately and efficiently
  • Skilled in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, ERP (SAP advantageous), Windows Office Suite
  • Comfortable engaging and interacting with people across diverse organizational levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult or complex customer issues
  • A positive approach on dealing with customers and know how to organize/prioritize daily tasks
  • Ability to identify improvements in daily processes
